How we analyse

Where needed, precision cross-sectioning exposes the failure site in cross-section for full microstructural analysis. We document every step so findings are reproducible and defensible — including in legal or regulatory contexts.

Electrochemical migration, tin whisker growth, and corrosion under conformal coating all progress faster in Indian operating conditions. Common questions

How long does a PCBA failure analysis take?

A typical investigation takes 5 to 10 working days from sample receipt to report delivery. Complex cases involving multiple failure modes or a large sample set may take longer. We provide an estimated timeline after initial scope review.

How many samples do you need?

We can work with a single failed unit, though having two or three failed samples alongside one passing unit significantly improves the investigation. More samples allow us to confirm whether a failure mode is consistent or variable.

Can you analyse boards that have been repaired or reflowed?

Yes, though rework can obscure evidence at solder joints. We recommend sending failed boards in as-received condition wherever possible. If rework has already occurred, please document what was done so we can account for it.

Do you work with boards from overseas suppliers?

Yes. Many of our engagements involve boards manufactured in China, Taiwan, or Southeast Asia. We have experience identifying manufacturing-origin failure modes and can support supplier audits or dispute resolution.
